What is Temporary Transit?

What is Temporary Transit?

Much better than leasing: Temporary Transit!

Temporary Transit (TT) is an appealing alternative to car leasing in Europe. It is a customs and tax arrangement based on the temporary admission regime, allowing individuals residing outside the European Union territory or in an Overseas Department or Territory to have a vehicle for the entirety of their stay.

The offered vehicles are always new, providing a very attractive alternative to traditional vehicle leasing. The client becomes the owner of the vehicle throughout the entire contract period. The acquisition is made for a limited duration and is exempt from customs duties and VAT.

The vehicle is granted a specific French registration with a recognizable red license plate, allowing free movement within the European Union (excluding Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, United Kingdom, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine).

At the end of the usage period, the vehicle is returned to a designated center, relieving the client of any further concerns. This measure is also known as "buy-back" or by the acronym "TT."

Who can benefit from it?

Do you own your primary residence outside the European Union or in the Overseas Departments/Territories (DOM/TOM)?
Do you stay less than 175 days in a consecutive twelve-month period in a European Union member country?
Do you not engage in any paid activities in a European Union country?
You can benefit from the duty-free offer Car2Europe, regardless of your nationality.
Please note that you must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid and recognized driver's license in the countries you traverse (international driver's license).

How does it work?

You can have a vehicle for stays ranging from 14 days to 6 months.

The offered vehicles are always new.
The mileage is unlimited until the end of the contract.
In addition, the client benefits from comprehensive insurance without a deductible, with 24/7 assistance available.

The vehicle can be delivered to 20 airports near Europe's top tourist destinations (20 delivery and return centers, including 11 in France and 9 in the rest of Europe).
It can even be returned to a different location than the departure, including in a different country from the arrival. The offer provides real freedom of use throughout Europe, compared to traditional car rental companies.

What are its advantages?

Temporary Transit (TT) offers a range of advantages. The service is premium:
- 24/7 assistance in case of breakdown, accident, theft, or vandalism, with an emergency solution to continue the journey.
- Comprehensive insurance coverage without a deductible, covering the driver's liability (including towards passengers transported free of charge), fire, theft, glass breakage, all accidents damages (subject to police reporting), legal protection, and driver's guarantee.
- No additional fees for an additional driver if considered able to drive the vehicle. Multiple drivers are possible, namely the contract holder, their spouse, direct descendants, and ascendants, subject to complying with the conditions for obtaining temporary transit registration.
- The vehicle is always new and belongs to the client, often of premium quality at Car2Europe.
- The client can also add accessories during the reservation. Please note that in these specific cases, it is essential to anticipate requests at least three weeks in advance to ensure they are honored.
- Cost-effective compared to conventional rental.
- Presence of delivery and return centers throughout Europe.
- Flexible return of the vehicle to a different center than the delivery center is possible, in the delivery country or a different country.
