The Rock
The Rock, the highest point of Monaco, is known as the historic heart of the city. Up there, you will find the Grimaldi family palace, pretty alleys, beautiful 18th century residences, ramparts and the cathedral. It is the ideal place for family walks, a chance to admire the changing of the guard or visit the princely palace, the official residence of the Grimaldis since 1927.
Of course, from the Rock, the view over the Mediterranean and the modern Monte-Carlo is breath-taking.
The Oceanographic Museum
Located on the Rock, next to the Princess Grace gardens, the museum is home to an aquarium containing nearly 6000 varieties from the marine world. Founded by Prince Albert I in 1910, the museum will appeal to the whole family and is the chance to learn more about the mysteries of the deep sea. The Lagoon, a real coral reef recreated in the middle of the museum, is incredible!

The exotic gardens
Exotic plants thrive in the climate of the French Riviera and this is all the more true in Monaco where in this superb garden you can find nearly 900 different species of semi-arid climate flora. Created by the engineer Louis Notari and opened to the public in 1931, you can admire cactus, aloe vera and fig trees that are among some of the oldest in the world.

The Monte-Carlo district
Let's come down from the Rock - on foot or by your Citroën car - and go to modern Monaco. Here, everything is calm, luxury and delight.
Take advantage of the location to discover the sumptuous villas, ultra-designed buildings, Belle Epoque architectural styled casino, Opera House and the mythical Hôtel de l'Hermitage, in front of which the most beautiful cars in the world take pride of place.
Getting around Monaco
Monaco is a city that is particularly well designed for cars. The Principality has nearly 40 car parks, where the first hour of parking is free.
It should be noted that traffic on the Rock is reserved for vehicles registered in the Principality or in the French department of Alpes Maritimes.
Also, after picking up your temporary transit Citroën car in Nice for example, we recommend that you leave it in one of the city's car parks and enjoy Monaco on foot.
